Shared Wisdom

Sipping my morning coffee, a desperate plea came from the laundry room, “There’s something very wrong with the washer!”  Expecting a torrent of moving water on the floor, I hurried to help…

Water not breaching containment; good!  🙂  Motor/pump running continuously though control panel turned off and showing no control whatsoever; not so good😬 My first thoughts were, “Oh great, it’s 8 years old, well past warranty, and going to be expensive.  Going to need more coffee!”

Before calling for repair service, I stumbled upon a thread of internet comments that seemed similar to our situation.  Amazingly, merely removing six screws to get at an electronic board and then tapping on some components on the board with the screwdriver handle fixed it!  I am not making this up.  Funny how it’s often small bits of shared wisdom or experience that make a big difference!

Some years ago, when the exterior of my life looked well enough, but the inside was wrestling with an empty gnawing that nothing could get at, I received a small bit of wisdom about Jesus from a friend.  Though my initial reaction was quite skeptical, it got me thinking and looking into a timeless thread of shared wisdom about Jesus.  It’s made a life-changing difference!

Jesus Christ entered the world in vulnerable obscurity to completely identify with us beautiful, struggling humans and bring to fulfillment God’s everlasting love, justice, and peace within and among us!

Let’s live out the reality of this timeless and life-changing thread!

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
light has dawned…
For to us a child is bornto us a son is given
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful CounselorMighty God,
Everlasting FatherPrince of Peace.  Of the increase
of his government and peace there will be no end…              Isaiah 9:2, 6-7
