Good News of Great Joy

Hope you’re having a joyful and refreshing Christmas! Last night’s waning fireplace flames got me thinking about the shepherds outside of Bethlehem the night Jesus was born

Though they played a key role in their community (think milk, cheese, wool, meat), they had little standing and their value was often overlooked.  Yet, when God’s angel came to announce the good news of God’s entrance into humanity, he first went to them, saying…

Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.  Today, in the town of David, Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord!        -Luke 2:10-11

God is fully present with us and to us in Jesus Christ!

In Christ, we are completely understood and now free to fully appreciate & recognize others! In Christ, our standing is secured forever, so we’re free to love & serve without holding back!

The child laid in a feeding trough later died as an adult on a Roman cross and emerged in power from a rocky tomb. He is God’s greatest gift of love to us!

Let’s live out his love in all our relationship & responsibilities! That’s Christmas 24/7/365 and will move the world forward
