Memorial Day

I hope this note finds you well into a reflective and refreshing time of freely…  resting, traveling, planting flowers and/or veggies, grilling out, catching fish, playing outside, worshiping publicly, doing home repairs, reading a book, boating, or doing whatever this Memorial Day weekend!

As you do, please remember and give thanks for the thousands of military service persons in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, & Coast Guard who have died while serving our country and protecting our freedoms in combat, training, and logistical support. In a way, there’s an unseen soldier, marine, sailor, airwoman or airman behind and upholding much of the physical freedom of our lives…

Think about it, be thankful!  Think of Ukraine, pray for them!

In a world continuously struggling with oppressive forces that are both external and internal, seen and unseen, there is and will always be a cost to be paid to secure freedom.  Christ believers and followers should understand and be motivated by this!  Jesus Christ willingly paid the sacrificial cost to set us free from our oppressive selfishness on his/our cross in order to set us free to love God with all ourselves and love others as ourselves in all relationships and responsibilities!

In gratitude, let’s freely and actively love and serve others!

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.
But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature;
rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:13
