My Pastor

My pastor died earlier this week. Well, his physical body gave out anyway.  After 70+ years of faithfully sharing Jesus Christ with fellow humans all over the world, Pastor Stuart Briscoe of Elmbrook Church has been released into the glorious, joyful, and welcoming presence of Almighty God, forever!

Smiling broadly, I say to him, “Well done, you!” knowing full well he’d correct me with a reminder that it’s the Holy Spirit working in and thru a yielded person that releases God’s love and power.  Were he here, he might’ve even, “felt a preach coming”!

Anyway, thank you Stuart for being so yielded!  The world is a better place due to the many lives who found and followed Jesus Christ through your ministry.  I am one of them…

It was my privilege to sit under and learn from your teaching for 10+ years. God used you to help me see Jesus clearer and follow better in whatever context or sphere of influence I might find myself-  as husband, father, son, brother, friend, teacher, business professional, and eventually pastor.

Thanks again for the “shoulder tap” 22 years ago and surprising opportunity that followed!  You saw something I did not yet see and turned your India visa problem and surprise open week into a life changer for me!  Totally in tune with the Holy Spirit’s serendipity…  Pretty good for an old British guy!  Cheers Big Brother!
