As waves of authentic Greek dishes delighted three generations of our far-flung expanded family, animated conversations, funny stories, and shared laughter filled both the air and our hearts. Truly satisfying! A spirited chorus of “Happy Birthday” and a candle-laden baklava, celebrating my mom’s 86 years, drew our evening to a close as we looked ahead two days to our daughter’s wedding and their impending lifetime commitment of love to one another.

Our meal looked ahead, grounded in decades of family love and relational commitment. This Holy Week, we focus on another meal, remembering the timeless foundations and sacrificial love commitment behind it. The events it recalls and love it rekindles within us, both inspire and transform us. Yes, the everlasting, gracious love of God– passionate, unwavering, pursuing, and life giving- uniquely available to all in Jesus Christ!
