Robin

This overcast morning, I noticed an adult robin showing a younger one how to catch worms in our backyard. It was cool to see how the older modeled searching and the younger initially struggled with focus, but started to catch some. When it started raining- it was Worm City!

It reminded me of my early years as a Christ-follower where I was helped by some more experienced friends to learn how to relate to God personally and feed myself spiritually. Things like… getting comfortable talking with and listening to God thru prayer.  Also, learning how to read, digest, and put into practice insight from the Bible, the way Jesus did. Like eating physically, eating spiritually energizes us to love God and others better in real life relationships and responsibilities!

I’ll always be grateful to those who took time to model, coach, and encourage me in life and following Jesus!  As Christ-followers, let’s commit to being lifelong learners and good modelers, coaches, and encouragers of others.  It’s Jesus’ way and tastier than worms!
