Nest
The front door and mat were littered with debris when I arrived at work. Sticks & twigs of all kinds, dirt, long muddy grasses, and other organic matter. None of it had been there when I left the evening before…
Looking up, I discovered a new bird’s nest straddling a light and plastered to the brick over our main entrance. Impressive effort by the robins preparing for new life to enter their world. Yes, there’s focused energy and power in the nesting instinct of animals and similar anticipation in humans!
Wouldn’t it be great to have a sense of preparation and anticipation of new and positive things be part of all the time? New life within & thru you, new opportunity to seize, new person to appreciate, new skill to learn, new challenge to overcome, new way to serve others, etc…
That’s how it was following Jesus at the start. As people chose to let Jesus lead them, they were seldom exactly certain what circumstances or challenges, they’d find themselves. But they did know he was always with them and that life happened and took on new dimensions with him! That’s still true today!
The robin’s nest? They built another in a new place, just in time… Life happens, let’s be part!
