Front Door Famous

With his recent song “Front Door Famous” Luke Combs touches the hearts of many generations and their desire for lasting love connections. He taps into the excitement of young children when their parents return home, from work or other times away, and how meaningful and memorable those moments of relational reconnection are throughout life- for children, parents, grandparents, or other caregivers! For me, I remember running to the door with my sibs yelling, “Daddy’s home!”  Later in life when roles had reversed, the enthusiasm of my children when I came home and how their delight for reconnection was always a highlight of my day!

I see two parallels in a vibrant faith relationship with Jesus. First, it’s key to know deep down that Jesus is always enthusiastic about us and reconnecting! No matter the reason for any separation or its duration, Jesus is delighted to love on anyone who turns to him! Second, it’s key to always keep our eyes open to God’s presence and stay childlike in our delight & passion for Jesus and his love- even as our capabilities grow, lives expand, or struggles get us down!
