Kitchen Magic
We had magic happen in our house today! Not scary Halloween witch nor literary Hogwarts boy with a lightning scar kind… Instead, we had culinary magic of a tasty and delicious kind! In rather short order, an entire kitchen island, burgeoning with tomatoes and cucumbers from our garden, was transformed into 2 quarts of pickles, 2 quarts of tomato soup, 2 quarts of salsa, & 3 pints of tomato sauce. Amazing!
How? All I can tell you is that I used cardboard flats to carry the best the garden had produced into our kitchen and offered it all up, by placing them on the island and hurrying away to other activities. A few hours later, when I next passed thru the kitchen, it had all changed (see pic above). I couldn’t believe it!
When I called Laura in to tell her about the magic cardboard flats and kitchen island, she couldn’t believe it either and walked out of the kitchen! Needless to say, we’re going out for dinner tonight to a farm where they serve wood-fired pizza and have live music outdoors. I’m going to ask them if they have magic flats and an island, too!
As Jesus followers, let’s pay attention to and thankfully appreciate the people and situations God uses to bring the blessing of positive transformation into our lives!
