Time
Are you ready to “spring ahead” 1 hour between tonight and tomorrow morning?
Time is a funny thing, isn’t it? Though we all have only 24 hours in each day, we can perceive them radically different from person to person and from day to day by the same person. For some it flies, while it crawls or stands still for others. There can never be enough time or we can have too much time on our hands.
For some athletes who make better decisions and anticipate better, it is said that the game “has slowed down” for them. Credit is given to off field time with coaches practicing, looking at film, etc…
As someone who wrestles with time frequently, I am struck by the life of Jesus. Jesus never seems hurried or harried and always seems to be confident he is in the right place at the right time, even when facing difficulty, opposition, or sudden changes. I’ve also noticed Jesus consistently made time for talking and listening to God in stillness that strengthened and gave him perspective.
What if doing as Jesus did could help us in our busy, demanding lives? Let’s take time to pray & open up to and listen & learn from God “off the field!” In this way, our lives just may “slow down for us” and begin filling with better reactions and decisions. You in? Let’s do it!
